SALES REPRESENTATIVE

At Speedling, we are here to help you grow!This position is for you if:- You travel and visit farms and love helping customers by managing their orders and products from order to delivery.- You have a passion for agriculture, and you want to learn about all aspects of a thriving manufacturing business.- You have the ability to work independently and enjoy working in a fast-paced, sometimes chaotic environment. - You are Microsoft Proficient, have a strong attention to details and accuracy.- You have at least two years of related industry experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Join our team:The successful Sales Representative will build relationships with new and existing customers, identifying sales opportunities by learning the value-add options that we can bring to the customer to improve their business. This includes qualifying prospects, providing quotations, completing order forms, checking on their plants, and following up after deliveries ensuring that they continue to be a satisfied Speedling customer. In partnership with the Customer Service and Operations teams, the Sales department’s goal is to build profitable, successful, long-term relationships with both internal and external customers. Summary of essential job functions:Forecast and execute sales budget via direct customer sales, within the overall framework of the sales strategyMaintain customer & prospect lists, developing new market opportunities, sales growth focusRegularly walk your customer's crops in the greenhouse in order to communicate progress to the customer and report any concerns to the customer service and farm manager. Learn how to spot abnormalities, germ rates, and to get to know what the crop looks like at various stagesBecome well-versed in the Speedling product lines and in customers’ practicesInform customers of current crop status using system reports and photosExceed customer expectations by cultivating a value-added customer relationshipResponsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all sales related paperworkSecure credit information to open new accounts and collections when necessaryWork closely with internal teams to ensure that we can meet the customers needs including space availabilityTake initiative in researching recommendations and developing market opportunities by participating in trade shows, mailings, demonstrations, etcParticipate in production and sales meetings to learn, contribute and communicate needs and report findings accordinglyMinimum Abilities and Requirements:Agriculture industry experience required; knowledge of transplants & plant products helpfulUndergraduate degree required, in Agriculture Business, or related fieldThe travel requirement for this position is estimated to be 50-75%Must be able to analyze the operations structure in order to be able to get positive resultsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, decision-making and problem solving skillsMaintain work in accordance with safety policies and regulations to promote a safe working environmentMust be in good physical condition and able to work outdoors for extended periods of timeClean criminal history and drug freeMust have a current, valid driver’s license with acceptable driving recordActive in the industry, such as through association membershipsAlways be professional, work with integrity and actively promote ethics and compliance with company policiesWhat we offer:- Our Employees are our #1 Asset!
