Quality Control Inspector The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections on aircraft, components, systems, and installations to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, engineering specifications, and company quality standards. This role is critical to maintaining the airworthiness, safety, and luxury standards of VIP/VVIP aircraft completions, refurbishments, and maintenance activities.Essential Job FunctionsPerform in-process, functional, and final inspections of aircraft systems, structures, and interior installations in accordance with FAA and company procedures.Review and validate work orders, maintenance entries, and inspection records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.Ensure adherence to applicable FAA regulations, OEM data, STCs, engineering drawings, and internal specifications.Support Return-to-Service (RTS) inspections and issuance of airworthiness release documentation.Document discrepancies and non-conformances, initiate corrective action reports (CARs), and follow through on resolution and re-inspection.Conduct receiving inspections of parts and materials, verifying traceability, certifications, and conformity to purchase specifications.Maintain accurate inspection logs, reports, and documentation in accordance with Repair Station procedures.Participate in internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure timely inspections and clear communication of quality standards.Support conformity inspections, first article inspections (FAI), and configuration validations as required.Promote a proactive quality culture by identifying process improvements, risks, and trends.Minimum Qualifications or ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required.35 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in aviation, aerospace, or a regulated technical field.Working knowledge of FAA regulations, Part 145 Repair Station practices, and aircraft maintenance documentation.Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, installation documents, wiring diagrams, and OEM manuals.Preferred Qualifications or ExperienceFAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or eligibility for Repairman Certificate.Experience inspecting VIP/VVIP business jets such as Gulfstream, Boeing BBJ, or Airbus ACJ.Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS), AS9100, or ISO 9001 standards.Knowledge of conformity processes and FAA Form 8130-3, 337, and related documentation.Prior experience in completions, refurbishment, or modification environments.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.May provide technical direction to mechanics or vendors on corrective actions related to discrepancies.Knowledge, Skills, and Other AttributesStrong attention to detail and ability to identify non-conformances.Solid understanding of FAA regulatory requirements and industry standards.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with cross-functional teams.Proficient with inspection tools, measurement devices, and digital documentation systems.Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection tasks simultaneously.Professional judgment and integrity in enforcing quality standards and compliance.Capable of supporting high-visibility, customer-facing projects with precision and urgency.TravelTravel is not typically required for this position but may occur occasionally for offsite inspections or vendor support.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not intended to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required. Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice to support business needs.Working ConditionsWork is performed in hangars, shops, and onboard aircraft during all phases of the project.Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing to access aircraft and components.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work in confined or elevated spaces.Exposure to varying environmental conditions including noise, temperature changes, and chemicals.Use of PPE is required, and all company and OSHA safety standards must be followed.May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends, or holidays based on inspection schedules.
