Dental Hygienist

We are a family owned and operated practice located in historic downtown Port Clinton on the shores of Lake Erie. This father-daughter team of dentists has been at this location since 1985 with an established patient base of all ages. We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices.Job Responsibilities:Documents dental hygiene services by recording/updating medical and dental histories and charting in patient records.Properly administer oral cancer screenings; clinical examination of overall oral condition, periodontal probing to locate, and assessment of all other manifestations of periodontal disease.Ability to properly complete dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and maintenance programs.Taking appropriate radiographs (digital/PSP)Proper application of fluorides and other medicamentsEducates patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructionsMaintains instrumentation for treatment by sharpening and proper sterilization.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.Qualifications / Skills:Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene requiredCurrent Ohio state license requiredExcellent verbal communication skillsBasic understanding and knowledge of HIPAA privacy rulesCurrent CPR certification requiredYou should be reliable and able to build trust with patients. As an RDH you should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies.
