About the CompanyB&R Stores, Inc. in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Corporate Accountant at our Support Center to support financial reporting and accounting operations for a retail-focused organization. This role plays a key part in month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting within a high-volume, transaction-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, retail experience, and an interest in continued professional growth within a collaborative accounting team.About the RoleThe Corporate Accountant is responsible for supporting financial reporting and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and collaboration with various internal teams.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post daily, monthly, and quarterly journal entries related to sales activity, inventory, cost of goods sold, accruals, and operating expenses.Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances.Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities.Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports for internal stakeholders.Support accounting for retail operations, including store-level transactions and inventory movement.Collaborate with store operations, merchandising, and other internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.Assist with external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as needed. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.3–6 years of progressive accounting experience.Retail accounting experience strongly preferred (multi-location and/or high-volume environments).Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.Experience with AP, AR, and financial reporting.Familiarity with inventory and cost of goods sold accounting.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, close-driven environment.High level of integrity and professionalism.
