AES Summer Internship Program At AES, we are looking for highly motivated students or recent graduates to join our team as Summer Interns. As part of this internship, you'll work side by side with a host team, gaining hands-on experience and learning the day-to-day ins and outs of the energy industry, while contributing to meaningful projects. Learn more about internships in: Wind Engineering Gain handson experience supporting the engineering and commercial evaluation of utilityscale wind turbine solutions across the development portfolio. Contribute to turbine selection, cost modeling, supplier engagement, and contract preparation. Ideal for students studying mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, renewable energy, or related fields. What you'll learn: How technical and commercial decisions shape realworld renewable energy projects and longterm asset value. Generator Modeling & Power System Studies Gain handson experience supporting PRC029 inverterbased resource (IBR) ridethrough assessments across AES's renewable portfolio. Assist with data analysis, power system modeling in PSLF and PSSE, and collaboration with development, construction, and operations teams. Ideal for students studying electrical engineering, power systems, or renewable energy. What you'll learn: How power system models and grid requirements are applied across the lifecycle of realworld renewable projects. SCADA Execution Gain handson experience supporting the execution of SCADA systems across enterprise and sitelevel environments. Contribute to commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and operational readiness activities for renewable power facilities. Ideal for students studying engineering and related disciplines. What you'll learn: How SCADA systems are deployed and commissioned to support safe, reliable renewable energy operations. Engineering Solutions & Standards Gain handson experience supporting initiatives that enhance engineering processes, documentation quality, and collaboration across AES Clean Energy. Contribute to an Engineering Document Governance and SharePoint Design initiative, dashboards, and working groups. Ideal for students studying engineering, information systems, computer science, business analytics, project management, or related fields. What you'll learn: How large engineering organizations enable consistency, collaboration, and impact through standards and governance. External Communications Gain handson experience supporting strategic external communications for AES's U.S. renewable energy development portfolio. Contribute to thought leadership, digital engagement, market research, media relations, and content creation that position AES as a solutionfocused leader in utilityscale renewable development. Ideal for students studying: communications, public affairs, marketing, policy, journalism, or related disciplines. What you'll learn: How strategic communications support realworld renewable energy development and shape public narratives around the energy transition.
