Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Reporting to: Global Head of Commercial.
Position Overview
We seek a proactive, commercially minded Applications Scientist to help customers solve tribology challenges and grow our US market presence. You will use your expertise in tribology and lubrication to engage leading industrial and academic partners, demonstrating PCS Instruments' solutions, shaping markets, and driving commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
Execute the applications strategy in the specialist tribology sector in the U.S.
Drive commercial growth through relationships that lead to new long‑term partnerships.
Collaborate closely with world‑class engineers, scientists, and strategic customers to unlock new applications for PCS test instruments.
Experiment, test, troubleshoot, and innovate, both independently and with customers.
Demonstrate cutting‑edge tribology equipment at our Massachusetts laboratory and at customer sites.
Represent PCS Instruments at major industry events and conferences, engaging with influential partners.
Influence product future by feeding customer insights and emerging market needs into new product development.
Assist in potential contract/consultancy work, translating customer requests into tests for the service engineer and supporting interpretation of measurements.
Qualifications
Master’s or Doctorate in Engineering, ideally with postgraduate experience in lubrication science or tribology.
Proven track record in hands‑on experimental research.
Experience presenting and demonstrating complex scientific equipment.
Ability to analyze trends, make strategic recommendations, and act decisively.
Impeccable integrity.
