Recreation Assistant (Skills Development).
DutiesAssists in the economic and efficient operation of the Skills Development Center. Assists assigned personnel in all areas of the Skills Development Program. Operates a variety of equipment in the assigned area. Responsible for operating the cash register, collects money, makes change, and issues receipts. At the end of each shift, closes out the register, completes required paperwork or reports and submits the entire package to the manager. Maintains security of all merchandise, equipment and funds assigned. Uses expertise in the area of skills development to answer customers' questions and complaints; as needed, directs more serious complaints to the manager. Assist customers with special orders. Maintains a clean, neat and safe work area.Actively participates in the recruitment and development of assigned staff members. Supervises assigned personnel. Assigns and reviews subordinates work and provides instruction and guidance as required. Establishes performance standards and evaluates employee performance. Prepared requests and justification for awards, reassignments and promotions. Applies Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principals and requirements to all personnel management actions.
