DTI has an immediate need for a Senior Knowledge Manager for a Full Time.Consultant must work on our W2Location- Remote (Chicago) ((9 am - 5 pm, M - F, CST)Job DescriptionThe Senior Knowledge Manager performs a lead role in managing the implementation of knowledge management initiatives in support of the CPS Mission. This role is key in promoting and adhering to the organization's Knowledge Management Methodology, including communication and management of tasks for all phases of the Knowledge Lifecycle. The Senior Knowledge Manager also promotes visibility into the CPS knowledge base, partnering with ITS and Business Leaders to ensure the knowledge assets align with departmental goals and the CPS Vision.This position resides in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) of the Information and Technology Services (ITS) department of Chicago Public Schools.The Senior Knowledge Manager will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:Coaching and guiding ITS and Business Leaders to ensure the knowledge base supports the CPS VisionSupporting business and knowledge management staffOccasional supervision of personnelManaging OCIO operational activities, ensuring current, accurate, and quality knowledge information across the ITS organizationDefining knowledge domains, initiating, and managing knowledge capture, organization, and sharing initiatives Creating and executing knowledge management plans and revising as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirementsInitiating and managing multiple knowledge initiatives in parallel and with multiple dependenciesProducing knowledge management reports and performance metricsCommunicating with the OCIO director and ITS management regarding the status of knowledge management initiativesIdentifying and managing knowledge risksUsing influence to eliminate bottlenecks and potential knowledge gapsManaging knowledge initiatives within standard knowledge management methodologies to achieve quality and timelinessIdentifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilitiesManaging through all stages of the knowledge life cycleManaging stakeholders and stakeholder expectationsProviding excellent service to clients (internal and external to ITS)Effectively managing vendor relationships in accordance with CPS and ITS strategies and directives regarding knowledge management tools and servicesProviding status and other deliverables at each stage of a defined knowledge initiativeDemonstrating a willingness to collaborate and support ITS peers and leadershipPlanning, directing, and implementing knowledge management initiatives on time, within budget and with desired outcomesSupporting the advancement of the OCIO's mission, which involves responsibilities including, but not limited to:Supporting Knowledge Management that provides a forward-looking picture of knowledge workContinuously improving the Knowledge MethodologyProviding input into Knowledge Management Best PracticesEducating ITS staff and CPS Knowledge Management stakeholders on KMO processes and toolsPerforming related duties as requiredIn order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Senior Knowledge Manager must possess the following qualifications:Education RequiredBachelor's Degree from an accredited college or universityKnowledge Management Certification strongly preferredExperience Required:Minimum seven (7) years of related experience requiredAt least seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in Knowledge Management, preferredAt least five (5) years of experience in Information Technology, preferredExperience in Education (K-12) knowledge management or program work, preferredKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesProficient in Knowledge Management practices, principles, and toolsKnowledgeable about organization and information structuresExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to apply knowledge management process standardsSelf-motivated/willing to take initiativeProven ability to build positive working relationships within own team and other areas of businessAbility to effectively communicate with customers, knowledge management and functional management to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions
