Come grow with us!The Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Automation/Data Analytics Engineer supports testing of complex systems within distributed Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) and cloud-based simulation environments for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This role focuses on automating data workflows, applying machine learning techniques, and delivering actionable insights through advanced analytics and visualization to support mission-critical software development and test events.As a Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Automation/Data Analytics Engineer, your duties will include the following but not limited to: Develop and maintain automated ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data sourcesDesign and build dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, or similar toolsAnalyze large-scale and streaming datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and performance insightsWrite, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and Python-based analytics workflowsImplement, train, evaluate, and optimize machine learning and deep learning modelsSupport automation of reporting and analytical processes to improve efficiency and timelinessCollaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting requirementsEnsure data integrity, quality, and consistency across analytics solutionsSupport distributed simulation events, including occasional off-hours test activitiesRequired QualificationsU.S. CitizenshipBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (equivalent professional experience considered)2+ years of related experience.Active SECRET security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCISoftware development experienceStrong Python development skillsExperience working with large datasets and/or streaming dataExperience implementing, training, and evaluating ML modelsProficiency with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, or Hugging FaceUnderstanding of machine learning concepts (e.g., Decision Trees, Random Forests, LSTM/sequence models)Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimizationExperience with Git and collaborative development workflowsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)Familiarity with Model Context Protocols (MCP) or similar agent/tool interaction frameworksExperience with GPU acceleration and CUDA architecture (drivers, runtime, APIs)Experience with deep learning and reinforcement learning librariesExperience building or supporting real-time data pipelinesExperience with data visualization and exploratory analysis tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, etc.)Familiarity with model deployment and inference optimizationExperience working in containerized or distributed environmentsExperience with Linux development environmentsExperience with Docker and containerized workflowsFamiliarity with streaming or large-scale data processing frameworksSchedule: M-F; 8-5Work Location: Huntsville, ALTravel: 0-10%Relocation Assistance Available: NoPosition Contingent Upon Award of Contract: NoBenefitsTorch Technologies is proud to offer a stable and professional work environment, a competitive salary, and an excellent, comprehensive benefit package including: ESOP participation, 401(k) match and safe-harbor contribution, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, Health Saving Accounts and Health Reimbursement Accounts, EAP, education assistance, paid time off, and holidays. Applying To Torch TechnologiesOnly those candidates invited for an interview will be contacted.
