Outside Sales Rep

Job DescriptionOutside Sales Rep - Lumber & Building MaterialsWe are actively looking for an Outside Sales Rep experienced in Lumber & Building Materials sales to join our growing team! As the Outside Sales Rep, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with contractors and homebuilders, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets. You will utilize your building materials knowledge, particularly in lumber, trusses, and exterior building products to effectively communicate and demonstrate the value of our products to customers.Responsibilities for the Outside Sales Rep:Ensure delivery of target sales by meeting with customers and maintaining relationshipsRecommend service and product enhancements to improve sales potentialAnalyze plans and trends to ensure best assignment of territories, clients, and service distribution.Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications, participating in industry networks, and growing lasting client relationshipsEstablish sales objectives by projecting expected sales volumes and forecasting.Remain relevant with economic indicators, changing trends, supply and demand shifts, and product mix.Positively contribute to full sales and customer service teamsDevelop and collaborate on long- and short-term sales strategiesRequirements of the Outside Sales Rep:Minimum 3-5 years of Outside Sales or Direct to Contractor sales experience in Building Materials and/or ConstructionProficient in reading Blueprints and doing takeoffsStrong knowledge of lumber, building materials, trusses, framing, millwork, etc.Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targetsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsHighly motivated and results-orientedStrong negotiation and closing skills
