HendersonRevised Date: May 1, 2026SUMMARYThe PBX Operator / Front Desk Receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for the district, managing a multi-line phone system, greeting and directing visitors, and ensuring efficient front office operations. This role also supports daily administrative functions, including handling deliveries, providing information, and maintaining a professional and secure reception environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Operate and manage a multi-line PBX telephone system, accurately routing incoming calls to appropriate departments and personnelGreet and assist all visitors in a professional and courteous manner; determine needs and direct guests to appropriate locationsMonitor front desk area to ensure security protocols are followed, including visitor sign-in proceduresReceive, log, and distribute packages and deliveries from external vendors and courier servicesProvide general information regarding district offices, departments, and personnelMaintain a clean, organized, and professional reception areaAssist with internal communications, including relaying urgent messages in a timely mannerSupport clerical functions such as data entry, filing, and document distribution as neededCoordinate with departments to ensure smooth daily operations and accurate message deliveryHandle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality and professionalismRespond to inquiries from staff, parents, and community members in a timely and helpful mannerQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Professional demeanor and appearance.
