ResponsibilitiesLead software engineering activities across a mid-size simulation program (design, development, integration, testing, deployment, sustainment)Provide day-to-day technical leadership and coordinate developers working on simulations, services, interfaces, and toolsPlan, prioritize, and execute software work to meet cost, schedule, performance, and quality objectivesTranslate system requirements into software architectures and implementation plansOversee design decisions, coding practices, integration approaches, and defect resolutionMentor and support software team members, including tasking and performance supportCoordinate with systems engineering, test, cybersecurity, configuration management, and program managementContribute to architecture, interface design, data flow, and baseline management for simulation solutionsEnsure software is secure, maintainable, scalable, and aligned with standards and lifecycle processesLead or support agile, iterative, or hybrid development activities (sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, reviews, retrospectives)Review code, designs, build processes, and test results for quality and readinessSupport troubleshooting of complex software and integration issuesTrack progress, risks, dependencies, and issues; communicate status to leadershipSupport release planning, configuration management, DevSecOps, and environment coordinationParticipate in customer meetings, technical reviews, milestone events, and briefings
Key requirementsMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fieldTop Secret ClearanceExtensive experience in software design, development, integration, and testingExperience leading software teams or as a software technical leadExperience supporting simulation systems or similar complex software environmentsProficiency in relevant programming languages, frameworks, and environmentsExperience with lifecycle processes, version control, issue tracking, and software integration practicesAbility to lead technical work, resolve complex engineering issues, and coordinate cross-functional activitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environmentleadershipcommunicationcollaborationsimulation software developmentsoftware architecture and designintegration and testing
