Quality Inspector
Job Title: Quality InspectorJob DescriptionAs a Quality Inspector, you will ensure that high-quality labels are produced safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for inspection, testing, reworking, and packing activities with great attention to detail, following established procedures.ResponsibilitiesFollow safety and operating procedures for all plant and ancillary equipment and report hazards to the supervisor.Verify that work orders meet sales order requirements.Communicate quality issues with press operators as they arise.Assemble packaging for finished labels.Attach identifying tags or labels to products as required.Load labels and packaging material to and from conveyors, boxes, and pallets by hand.Count and verify output to ensure it satisfies work order requirements.Inspect and test labels to verify conformance to specifications and standards.Rework defective or incomplete label rolls and materials.Operate production equipment including rub testers, label rewinders, and label application testing machines.Inspect all work order set-ups and monitor production runs for quality defects.Complete required documentation for timekeeping, housekeeping, and periodic preventative maintenance.Perform housekeeping and keep work areas, machines, and equipment clean and clutter-free.Perform routine maintenance on production, testing, and ancillary equipment.Report maintenance issues with production or testing equipment and complete notifications as required; enter maintenance requests for repairs as needed.Meet or exceed label production targets (KPIs).Attend and participate in periodic production, safety, and departmental meetings.Cross-train in other label production department roles.Work as a back-up in other production department roles as assigned.Undertake other projects and/or duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.Essential SkillsExperience in production, quality assurance, GMP, quality control, inspection, and visual inspection.Skills in loading and unloading, general labor, and manual dexterity.Additional Skills & QualificationsFamiliarity with Key Performance Indicators such as Health and Safety Incident Rate (IR), Plant Return Rate (PRR), Laminate Waste, First Pass Yield, Utilization, and Efficiency (OEE).Ability to complete work orders on time.Why Work Here?Enjoy a collaborative work environment where your contribution to quality and efficiency is valued. The environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with constant walking and standing.
