Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in New Haven, CT, for a Supervising Librarian at Ives Squared, the innovation and collaborative space of the New Haven Free Public Library. The Supervising Librarian will oversee library services, provide leadership in managing daily operations, and ensure the delivery of exceptional user experiences. Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing programs, providing library instruction, guiding innovative projects, and maintaining a robust collection aligned with community needs and interests. Additionally, the role involves engaging with the community, fostering partnerships, and promoting the library's mission. Qualifications Experience in Library Services and Library ManagementKnowledge of Library Science and Metadata standardsExpertise in Library Instruction methods and practicesProven ability to lead teams and deliver exceptional customer serviceStrong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsProficiency with digital tools, library software, and emerging technologiesMaster’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program or a related field requiredExperience working in public libraries or community-focused environments is a plus
