Cost Analyst

TOGETHER, WE SAVE LIVESOverviewReporting to our Finance Manager, you will be using your accounting and analytical skills to work with leaders and associates at all levels of the Company to review and investigate labor and manufacturing variances, monthly inventory levels and present on key financial results. A substantial portion of this position will involve participating in teams with the goal of driving continuous process improvements within our operations and finance organizationsResponsibilitiesMonitor changes and update bills of materials / routingAnalyze and update labor and manufacturing overhead ratesAnalyze fixed versus variable overhead ratesAnalyze and update labor operation hoursMonitor monthly inventory levels and support cycle count programsManage physical inventory processAnalyze monthly manufacturing variances and communicate key driversAnalyze monthly operating efficienciesInvestigate variances and inefficiencies to assist Operations in determining root cause and countermeasureAnalyze monthly gross profitAnalyze inventory reservesPartner with Manufacturing to prepare annual plant budgetsSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual planning cycles Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization’s cost accounting proceduresPrepare and present management reports, dashboards, and KPIsFixed asset accounting: inventory control, tagging, accounting. Update general ledger monthly as required.Create and upload journal entries (reserves, inventory adjustments, other general adjustments)Conduct balance sheet reconciliationsValidate cost of goods sold during month-endSupport ad hoc requests of Finance ManagerPerform all other ad hoc duties as assigned by Finance Manager/Business Unit LeadQualifications5+ years of general accounting, cost accounting, or financial analysis experience5+ years of experience in manufacturing; use of Syteline ERP system a plusBachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or other relevant fieldMaster’s degree or MBA / CPA / CMA a plusExperience with Visual Manufacturing system, Oracle financials, or Microsoft Dynamics/D365 (ERP)Experience with OneStream or a similar reporting toolExperience in Lean ManufacturingExtensive experience with Microsoft ExcelExcellent analytical skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent writing, speaking, and presentation skillsAbility to clearly and concisely communicate with non-accounting professionalsDemonstrate leadership skillsStrong problem solving and analytical skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to manage time on a project basisWillingness to learn and growWhy work at Safariland?At Safariland our colleagues are some of the best and brightest in the industry and we are seeking new team members who exhibit the diverse competencies that will drive The Safariland Group to even greater success while maintaining our culture of being a great place to work.
