Job Summary: This position is responsible for the overall operation of the Grinding machine and supplying good, quality product with the ability to meet deadlines in a safe manner. Additional responsibilities will include: assistance with creating SOP and other production related documentation, inventory data-entry and cross-training into other job functions as needed. This position requires routine attendance to departmental, production, safety and Company meetings.Duties and Responsibilities:"E"ssential/"S"econdary% of TimeDescriptionE40%Operate the Grinding machine which includes operation of the Bagger, Grinders & Dust Collector with minimal supervision:Conduct a visual inspection and perform general preventive maintenance of the Grinding area, tools and equipmentLogin to computer and review orderPower on Bagger, Grinders & Dust CollectorBagger operation:Ensure proper supply of empty bagsPlace label on bags identifying batch # and color to be runWait for material to come from GrinderPlace empty bag on bagger and allow machine to fill bags to 55 lbs.Replace bagger with new, empty bag and repeat processGrinder operation:Place 1st bin on belt for GrinderOperate lever to fill Grinder with material from binsCheck for contamination via the ShakersFit empty palletizer with skidsMove full skids to warehouseEnter production data into computer at close of shiftOnce all grinding material is bagged for the shift, conduct extensive cleaning to the Grinding Machine and associated equipmentE20%Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines. Continually check product for quality throughout the manufacturing process.E15%Operate fork truck to lift/transport raw materials and finished products and use impact wrenches/pneumatic equipment while adhering to all power industrial equipment rules and safety requirementsE10%Maintain clean work environment by using air hose on all machine areas at every color change to avoid contamination; ensure tools & equipment are kept in an orderly fashion and stored where required for easy access; maintain equipment by reporting any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor and maintenance departmentE10%Cross-train into other job functions providing assistance as necessary or during downtime within the departmentS5%Utilize computer at workstation to login, enter/review production data and work orders as required100%Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:High School Diploma/GED or 4 years of machine operator/manufacturing experience requiredEnglish fluency (read, write, speak); ability to communicate well (verbal/written)Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands6 months fork truck experience requiredPrevious manufacturing experience preferredRead and understand units of measureAbility to perform basic math functionsDemonstrated comfort with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferredMust be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe mannerMust be able to work overtime to meet operational requirementsAble to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the roleAbility to wear mask/goggles and hearing protections when performing jobAbility to work from heightsWork Environment:The work environment characteristics below are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job.Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment).
