Regional Carrier Representative

Position Summary:Responsible to enhance and increase the carrier base of ATS Logistics Services,Inc. in an assigned region, by implementing sound marketing and customer serviceprinciples by attracting and retaining qualified carriers, aiding in brokerageoperations by working both in-house and various office and divisions of ATSLogistics throughout the U.S. while acting as the liaison between the carriersand shippers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Contacts existing, inactive or potential carriersNegotiate rates with carriers to handle customer shipmentsLearn to sell our well recognized productDispatches qualified carrier to available freight, providing all pertinentinformation necessary for a high level of service, responding to questions,investigating and resolving problems as needed, and updating carrier trips inthe data systemUpdate computer system to reflect accurate informationMaintain pricing and rate quoting competitive to the current marketconditionsManage a book of business in excess of a million dollars annuallyActs as a liaison between carriers and shippersQualifications:Higher education (i.e. two or four year degree) preferred but not requiredGood understanding of marketing, sales and customer serviceStrong computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and OutlookCore Competencies:Problem Solving - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner;gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions;works well in group problem solving situationsAnalytical - collects and researches dataCustomer Service - manages difficult customer situations; respondspromptly to customer needs; meets commitmentsCommunication - speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negativesituations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; writesclearly and informatively; able to read and interpret written informationTeam Work - balances team and individual responsibilities; gives andwelcomes feedback; contributes to building a positive team spiritOrganizational Support - follows policies and procedures; completesadministrative tasks correctly and on time; supports organization's goals andvaluesAttendance/Dependability - consistently at work on time; followsinstructions; completes tasksJudgment -Motivation - sets and achieves challenging goals; measures self againststandard of excellenceCompensation & Benefits:Total cash compensation range of this position is $49,500 to$64,500 including a base salary range of $43,500 to $58,500 and first-yeartraining incentive of $6,000. Base salary offered is determined by relevantexperience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared toothers doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary,employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can varydepending on individual and/or company performance.Anderson Trucking Service is committed to supporting our employees with acomprehensive benefits package.
