This role sits at the center of early-stage project development, bringing together engineering, procurement, and construction to ensure projects are well-defined, de-risked, and set up for successful execution. You will play a key role in shaping project strategy, advising on technical decisions, and driving alignment across teams during the most critical phases of development. This is a highly impactful opportunity to help shape the direction of major energy projects from day one, working closely with experienced teams, influencing key decisions, and ensuring complex infrastructure projects are set up the right way from the start.What You'll DoLead and advise on conceptual design and front-end engineering for natural gas-fired generation facilitiesDevelop and review project schedules, cost estimates, and risk assessmentsCoordinate pre-construction deliverables across engineering, procurement, and construction teamsProvide high-level input on the selection of major equipment and systemsReview engineering documentation to ensure alignment with project specifications and industry standardsIdentify opportunities to optimize performance, efficiency, and constructabilityDrive alignment across cross-functional teams and ensure clear communication throughout pre-constructionAct as a key technical and strategic advisor to internal stakeholders and project leadershipWho You AreYou have a "Do what needs to be done" mindset, taking ownership beyond assigned tasks and stepping in wherever needed to keep projects, teams, and customers supported and running smoothly.7+ years of experience in traditional energy development and/or constructionStrong background in natural gas generation or similar conventional energy infrastructureExperience working across pre-construction, engineering, and project executionAbility to evaluate technical designs, schedules, and cost structures at a high levelProven ability to lead and influence cross-disciplinary teamsStrong communication and decision-making skills Nice to HaveDegree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldExperience supporting large-scale energy or infrastructure projects from concept through executionWillingness or ability to relocate to Las Vegas, NVWhy AKS?At AKS, we believe your work should support your life, not the other way around.
