Think of us as the travel buddy who handles the logistics while you focus on what you do best helping people heal.Roles & ResponsibilitiesProvide exceptional post-anesthesia care in Phase I and Phase II, ensuring safe recovery and smooth transitions to the next level of carePerform thorough pre-op assessments and prepare patients for procedures with attention to detail and patient comfortContinuously monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms, interpret strips, and respond appropriately to life-threatening rhythmsChart accurately in MEDITECH and on paper (ORSC uses a mix), maintaining clear and timely documentationFloat between Mercy Medical Center (MMC) and ORSC recovery areas as needed, adapting quickly to different unit workflowsCollaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, charge nurses, and MAs to coordinate safe, efficient patient careEducate patients and families on post-op care and discharge instructions to promote positive outcomesQualificationsCurrent RN licensure (OR license not required at time of submittal; facility will request a 90-day emergency license if needed)Minimum 2 years of RN experience (per job posting)Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferredDemonstrated experience with MEDITECH EMR requiredExperience caring for Phase I and Phase II post-op patientsComfortable reading and interpreting cardiac rhythms (RNs, not monitor techs)Ability and willingness to float between MMC and ORSC recoveryEducationBSN not required (posting indicates BSN: No)Knowledge & SkillsPost-Anesthesia Care (PACU) and Pre-Operative nursing skillsMeditech electronic medical record proficiencyPatient monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretationFamiliarity with Phase I and Phase II recovery protocolsExperience with both electronic and paper charting workflowsAbility to work in a fast-paced OR/PACU environment and handle varied case volumesStrong communication, teamwork, and patient education skillsBenefitsLicensure assistance — facility will request a 90-day emergency OR license if neededSupportive team environment with dedicated charge nurses and MAs to help you succeedComprehensive orientation with preceptor support until you're comfortablePaid time off and schedule stability through 5x8 day shifts (talk to the manager about exact schedules)Professional development opportunities and access to continuing educationHelp with travel logistics and reimbursement guidance for contract assignmentsOpportunity to gain broad perioperative experience across PACU, Pre-op, and ORSC recoveryTravel Perks: Explore Roseburg, ORExplore the natural beauty around Roseburg when you're off shift: cast a line or paddle on the Umpqua River, hike scenic trails in the Umpqua National Forest, and sample local wines in Umpqua Valley Wine Country.
