The Facilities Department has a 6-million-dollar operating budget to manage 25 college-owned buildings across three campuses, located in two counties, totaling 1.5 million square feet of assignable space, with an estimated value exceeding $400 million.This position supervises the Associate Director of Facilities and Facilities Budget Manager. This position also plays a key role in managing and facilitating capital development through planning, design, and construction by coordinating and directing multiple projects, including dealing with outside consultants and contractors as well as with city and state officials. The Director provides leadership in directing and executing multiple aspects of the day-to-day facilities maintenance and operations of Lansing Community College, including custodial services, moving services, maintenance, mechanical services and systems, electrical systems, and central plant operations, elevators, waste management, event support and set-ups, hazardous materials management, engineering, energy conservation, selected outsourced services, and the cultivation of the campus landscape, grounds, and parking maintenance.This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance and construction, playing a key role on the college's capital development teams to align with long-term strategic goals. This role also participates in the Incident Command Team during Emergency Operations, serving as an Operations Chief of the Facilities Unit.Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment.
