We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Utility Engineer to work on challenging and rewarding projects.About the Role:This is a full-time, Utility Engineer position that will support as key personnel or lead large infrastructure projects in the District of Columbia. The role combines technical review, practical field perspective, coordination, and process tracking across design and construction phases of large infrastructure projects.The Utility Engineer works primarily in the office with some field engagement and engages with the Client, contractors, utility owners, subject matter experts, and other team members. The Utility Engineer works amongst other engineers to help with project delivery.This role is intended for a Utility Engineer who aspires to grow their experiences and career by working on large important infrastructure projects. This is a hybrid position.Key Responsibilities:Engineering Design, Technical Review & DeliveryDesign of utilities (electric and/or water and/or gas and/or telecom)Provide consolidated comments on construction submittals, RFIs, NCRs, change orders, and construction work plans related to utilitiesInterpret utility as-built records, survey data, and utility design plans for conflicts, and coordination impactsAssist subject matter experts (gas, electric, water, telecom, etc.) with field investigations and technical reviewsUtility Coordination & Stakeholder EngagementParticipate in and support utility coordination meetings, including design coordination, construction coordination, pre-construction, and discipline-specific meetingsCoordinate with utility owners and understand varying utility processes, requirements, and standardsTrack utility agreements, permits, and coordination commitments through execution and implementationConstruction & Field IntegrationAssist with application of engineering design implementation in the field, as requiredCost, Schedule & Document ControlTrack cost estimatesParticipate in over-the-shoulder design meetingsUtilize and produce utility trackers, matrices, and logsUtilize document control functions for utility-related deliverables, correspondence, and approvalsReporting & SystemsPrepare reports and internal documentation as requiredUtilize construction management softwareQualifications:RequiredBachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, or related field Strong working knowledge of utility designExperience reviewing design and construction documents Ability to coordinate across disciplinesFamiliarity with Microsoft Office toolsPreferredProfessional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtainExperience on progressive delivery (progressive design-build, design-build, CMAR, etc.) projectsWillingness to obtain additional certifications as requiredKey Attributes for SuccessStrong communicator and alliance builderProactive problem solver with a solutions-oriented mindsetDetail-oriented with strong tracking and documentation skillsMotivated to grow into increased responsibility and leadershipSalary Information:Salary range will vary based on experience level, education, licensure and/or certifications held.Benefits:Our comprehensive and competitive benefits package includes Health, Vision, and Dental insurance, 401(k) plans (with share), Holidays and Paid Time OffOther Requirements:Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
