General Sales Manager

General Sales ManagerChapman BMW on Camelback in Phoenix is seeking a General Sales Manager to lead the sales team and drive overall dealership performance. This role is responsible for hitting sales targets, coaching the team, building B2B and luxury sales opportunities, and growing market share through outbound prospecting and CRM follow-up. The GSM will manage deals and negotiations, oversee inventory, support marketing efforts and events, and ensure strong customer experience throughout the sales process.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the automotive sales team to achieve and surpass sales targets through effective coaching, motivation, and performance managementDevelop and execute strategic sales plans focused on high-end vehicles, B2B (business-to-business) sales, and expanding the dealership's market presenceCultivate new business opportunities through outbound sales efforts such as cold calling, networking events, and B2B outreachMaintain a robust sales pipeline by tracking prospects using CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software and ensuring timely follow-upConduct negotiations with clients to close deals efficiently while maximizing profitability through upselling and value-added servicesOversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels of high-demand vehicles and accessoriesProvide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries professionally via phone, email, or in-person interactions while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skillsCollaborate with marketing teams to implement promotional campaigns that attract new customers and retain existing onesOrganize public speaking engagements or dealership events to enhance brand visibility and community engagementSupport the sales team with retail math calculations, inventory control, and organizational skills to streamline operationsQualificationsProven experience in automobile sales, dealership management, or retail sales, preferably with high-end vehicles or B2B transactionsStrong background in outside sales, negotiation, and building long-term client relationshipsFamiliarity with CRM for managing leads, follow-ups, and sales pipelinesDemonstrated success in upselling products or services to maximize revenue opportunitiesExcellent communication skills; bilingual abilities are highly valuedExperience in inventory management, retail math, and organizational skills for efficient dealership operationsPrior experience in public speaking or representing a dealership at community events is a plusKnowledge of automotive industry trends, marketing strategies, and customer service best practicesCompensation & PerksPay: $150,000 salaryEmployee discounts and assistance programsClosed SundaysBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid and voluntary life insuranceShort-term and long-term disability options401(k) with company contributionsPaid time off and holiday payOnsite nurse practitionersRetirement and financial planning resourcesHow to ApplySubmit your application for consideration.
