Job Description SummaryA growing mechanical contractor is seeking a Senior Project Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering degree who is looking to build a long-term career toward Project Management within commercial mechanical construction.The company specializes in design-build HVAC and plumbing projects across complex commercial environments including life science, laboratory, and advanced technology facilities. This role works closely with Project Managers, field teams, and engineering leadership to support projects from preconstruction through closeout.This is a strong opportunity for someone early in their career who wants hands-on exposure to both technical and operational sides of mechanical construction.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination and executionAssist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentationReview MEP drawings, specifications, and mechanical scopesCoordinate material procurement, deliveries, and tracking logsAssist with budgeting, cost tracking, and schedule updatesSupport design-build coordination with engineering and field teamsParticipate in project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal teamsHelp manage project closeout including punch lists and O&M documentationWork closely with field operations to support installation and project progressAssist estimating and preconstruction teams when neededProject TypesLife science and laboratory facilitiesCommercial and institutional buildingsAdvanced technology and specialized environmentsDesign-build HVAC and mechanical systemsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required1–5 years of experience in mechanical construction or engineering preferredStrong interest in pursuing a Project Manager career pathExperience or exposure to commercial HVAC systems preferredPlumbing knowledge is a plusFamiliarity with Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft OfficeAbility to read and interpret MEP drawings and specificationsStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsCompensation & BenefitsPartial ESOP participationMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k)Paid holidays and PTOMentorship and long-term growth into Project ManagementExposure to complex design-build mechanical projects
