Be part of a company where your work supports a mission that makes a difference-apply today!Technical Writer, Configuration ManagementOverviewWe are seeking a Technical Writer to develop, manage, and maintain accurate, compliant technical documentation for aerospace systems and programs. This role supports formal configuration management processes, ensuring documentation aligns with approved designs, engineering changes, and regulatory requirements throughout the product lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesCreate, edit, and maintain aerospace technical documentation, including:Maintenance and service documentationOperating procedures and work instructionsEngineering specifications and technical reportsTest procedures, test reports, and validation documentationSafety, compliance, and certification artifactsManage documentation within a formal configuration management (CM) frameworkEnsure documentation aligns with approved configurations, baselines, and revisionsProcess and track document changes through Engineering Change Orders (ECOs/ECNs/ECRs)Maintain document version control, revision history, and traceabilityApply and enforce applicable aerospace and quality standards (e.g., AS9100, FAA/EASA, DoD as applicable)Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program teamsSupport internal and external audits, certifications, and customer reviewsEnsure documentation accuracy, consistency, and regulatory complianceRequired QualificationsExperience as a Technical Writer in aerospace, defense, aviation, or a regulated engineering environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environment while tracking multiple tasksStrong understanding of configuration management and change control processesProven experience managing controlled documents and baselinesExcellent technical writing, editing, and organizational skillsAbility to understand engineering documentation and technical dataExpertise with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel).Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Aerospace, or a related fieldExperience working under FAA/EASA, DoD, or AS9100 requirementsFamiliarity with PLM/PDM systems and lifecycle data managementFamiliarity with US Military Standards for testing (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, etc.)Experience with documentation and lifecycle management tools (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter) Nice to HaveExperience with requirements traceability and verification documentationBackground in quality, compliance, or audit supportExperience with safety-critical or mission-critical systems What We OfferCompetitive compensation and benefitsWork on mission-critical aerospace programsCollaborative, cross-functional engineering environmentCareer growth in technical documentation and configuration managementPay Range: $75,000 - 100,000 / yearThis position is at our Parsippany, NJ office location.Many of our contracts require proof that you are a U.S. citizen and/or that an export license has been obtained for employees who are citizens of certain countries.
