By adding your creativity, innovations, and contributions, you take pride in being a valued member of our growth and success.Software Engineer – HVAC SystemsThe Software Engineer has a strong mechanical aptitude and HVAC knowledge to support the development and enhancement of engineering selection and performance software tools. This role bridges software development and mechanical engineering by translating HVAC concepts such as airflow, heat transfer, psychrometrics, and system performance into accurate, scalable, and user-friendly applications. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and application teams to develop tools that support equipment selection, product configuration, and system design.Job Duties:Software Development & Engineering LogicTranslate mechanical engineering concepts including thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and airflow into executable software logicCollaborate with internal engineering teams and external software contractors to develop, revise, test, and maintain performance and sales selection toolsWrite clean, modular, and maintainable code following software development best practices and lifecycle standardsParticipate in system testing, debugging, validation, and software performance optimizationMaintain version control and contribute to software documentation and process improvementsHVAC & Mechanical Systems IntegrationConvert HVAC engineering principles such as psychrometrics, static pressure, fan performance, and coil calculations into reliable software calculationsInterpret engineering specifications, submittals, and product performance data to support application developmentValidate engineering calculations related to:Handling Unit (AHU) selectionCoil performanceFan curves and system pressureSupport software updates related to new product lines, engineering changes, and feature enhancementsCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with:Mechanical EngineersProduct ManagersSales and Application EngineersGather and refine software requirements for new tools and feature enhancementsParticipate in product development discussions and design reviewsProvide technical support and user training for engineering selection softwareTesting & ValidationDevelop and execute unit tests and validation routines for engineering calculationsCross-check software outputs against manual engineering calculations and performance dataSupport quality assurance efforts and ensure compliance with internal standardsContinuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to automate manual engineering workflows and improve usabilityEnhance software scalability, performance, and maintainabilityStay current with emerging software frameworks, technologies, and development best practicesContribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiativesPreferred / Nice-to-Have ExperienceExperience developing web-based or cloud-hosted engineering applicationsFamiliarity with data visualization tools for fan curves, psychrometric charts, or performance plottingExperience integrating with BIM platforms such as RevitKnowledge of API development and external system integrationsQualifications:Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field requiredApproximately 5 years of software development experienceStrong mechanical aptitude and interest in HVAC systems requiredExperience with:C#.NET Framework / .NET CoreHTMLJavaScriptUnderstanding of HVAC systems, thermodynamics, airflow, or related mechanical principles preferredStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work cross-functionally with engineering and technical teamsExcellent communication and organizational skillsOur PurposeThrough our purpose of “Helping Buildings Breathe Better,” XeteX unlocks the full potential of building environments through our innovative custom air handling solutions.
