ResponsibilitiesEffectively supervise groups within Logistics to ensure all customer requirements are metGuide the escalation process. Review processes to ensure adherence to policy and adjust accordingly.Review daily workload to ensure adequate availability of resources. Provide leadership in ongoing cost reduction and continuous improvement programs/projects.Anticipate and resolve day-to-day issues, complete root cause failure analyses, and take corrective actionsAnalyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.Communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management, electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve transportation service efficiency, speed, or quality.Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metricsManage relationships with our TMS/MTS providersWeekly calls – set up monthly meetings with key leaders- project updates, industry updates, improvements, etc.Quarterly reviewsManage relationships with all LTL, TL, parcel, and international providersReview KPIs and customer requirements.Ensure quarterly and month-end reporting is executed and validatedVisit Local Plants monthly and engage with shipping teamsConduct RFPs: LTL, Parcel, TL (Dry-van and Flatbed), Air, International OceanPersonal QualitiesProblem-Solving – Excellent ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and provide suggestions for improvements or corrective actionsInterpersonal skills – Communicates and works well with all levels of the organization; develops relationships with stakeholders to ensure their involvement and commitmentInitiative – Keeps abreast of changing regulations and procedures; develops new and innovative methods for implementing Logistics processesWork well in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentAttention to detailAbility to handle pressure and meet deadlinesQualifications4-year degree in a Logistics-related field and 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience preferredExcellent verbal, written, and team communication skills7+ years of logistics experience with TMS/MTS systemsStrong systems skills, including proficiency with integrated software applicationsThinks critically and can problem-solveComputer and software knowledge requiredAbility to interface with multiple levels of the organization and communicate effectivelyWorking ConditionsNormal office and manufacturing facility environment.
