Master MachinistAs a Master Machinist at ASC - Columbia Plant, you will have the opportunity to work with your hands. You may be responsible for reading blueprints, fabrication/welding, tooling repair, designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.Key ResponsibilitiesTool and die blueprint readingMechanical knowledgeFabrication/weldingFamiliar with Injection MoldingManufacturing repairTooling repairPrecision measuring instrumentRepairing moldsOperating grinding and milling machinesTear down, clean, assemble after fix, clean, polishGrind, mill & latheVisualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerancesDesigning jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of partsMeasuring and marking metal stock for machiningSetting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machinesFiling, grinding, shimming metals to ensure a smooth finishFitting and assembling tools and mold partsInspecting finished dies and molds for defects, smoothness, and contour deformitiesAll other duties/tasks as assignedAdditional responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
