WOODLAND PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT RE-2Work Location: DistrictTitle: Van DriverExempt Status: Non-ExemptPosition Status: Full time & Part timeSalary Range: $17.50-$20.00/hour (depending on experience) Days: Flexible Schedule Hours: 30-40/weeklyQualificatons Meet or exceeds state, federal and local transportation regulationsHolds a valid driver license and complete the pre-service training program of the DistrictPass a DOT physical examination and possess the physical and mental attributes of a good driverMust be capable of driving a school van and possess the driving abilities and skills necessary to operate the vehicle in a safe mannerPersonal SkillsAbility to meet public in a cordial and helpful manner both in person and by telephoneAbility to ensure that confidential matters remain confidentialAbility to cooperate with co-workers and publicAbility to relate to and understand childrenAbility to recognize when and when not to be a decision makerGeneral DutiesSafety and well-being of passengersObserving safe driving practicesPreparing and filing necessary reports and forms promptly, neatly and accuratelyReporting safety hazards that may exist along the school bus route and other hazards the school bus operator may encounterConduct pre and post trip inspections, inspecting vehicle for defects or vandalism after each route or activityInsuring vehicle will be secure until the next tripFuel vehicleOther tasks and duties assigned by the transportation director
