Overnight Camp Staff (Many Point Scout Camp) - 21+

Many Point Scout Camp seeks a Huck Finn Director (High Adventure Staff).Are you looking for a summer job working with youth in our community? Many Point Scout Camp is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our camp team. You will have the opportunity to supervise Supervise evening aquatics activities for youth 13-17, overseeing overnight camping on floating rafts and assist in other high adventure programs! This camp primarily serves youth ages 11-17. Meals and Housing for the summer provided.Average wage is $3,400 - $3,900 for the summer season depending on previous experience and position hired into. Housing and meals provided for camp season. Benefits include training in several program areas, personal leadership development, use of program equipment, free parking, great co-workers, scholarship opportunities, and the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of youth. Northern Star Scouting also offers a Sick and Safe Time program for all part-time employees. College aged staff may receive up to a $1500 scholarship for the completion of a full summer season.The job may be tailored as an internship if needed; it is your responsibility to determine if academic credit is available within your academic department and degree program.QualificationsMust be age 21 or older (prior to start of camp)Strong communication skills are requiredExperience working directly with youth in the classroom, outdoor recreation sites, summer sites, summer youth camp, or other youth programs preferredExperience working with diverse populations between ages of 10 - 18 is desiredExperience in Scouting NOT requiredApplicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to applyThe summer camp season goes from June 10th - August 17th, with opportunities for additional work through Sept 3. Some positions may required addition pre-camp training (EX: lifeguarding, NRA, camp leadership).
