Material Coordinator

Job Description Title: Material CoordinatorClient: Heavy Machine Manufacturing CompanyLocation: Milan, IL 61264Duration: 2 Years (Possibility of extension)Shift: 2nd Shift – 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM (Overtime possible)DescriptionCoordinates the flow of materials and the filling of Kanbans within a factory department, which may include shipping and receivingEnsures production personnel have required parts to meet production goalsOversees inventory accuracy and timeliness; identifies issues and suggests improvements to production schedulesEnsures material logistics align with Company Production Systems principlesCoordinates tactical execution of production plans within a smaller factory groupTypically an entry-level position within the organizationResponsibilitiesAssist with implementation of the new SAP/EWM system into PDCAct as the material coordinator for the largest department on 2nd shiftDirect picker activities to ensure accurate and timely order deliveryUse warehouse management systems to track picking progress and update order statusAddress missing items, damaged goods, and system errors to minimize delaysTrack productivity metrics, report results, and recommend improvementsWork occasionally in Excel; majority of work in Company mainframe/menu-driven systems, DNS (Dealer Network System), and WCSDutiesCoordinate department schedule performance for procuring, expediting, and movement of rejected materials to sourceRecommend procedures based on root cause and management reviewIdentify root causes of material shortagesProvide solution recommendations when applicableUse Master Schedule to create and distribute daily production schedulesProcess inbound and outbound material transactionsAudit material replenishment cycles for accuracyAssist with creation of material replenishment plansCount and expedite parts to prevent production interruptionsWork critical shortage reports to ensure part availabilityRequired Skills / ExperienceExceptional data entry speed and accuracy with ability to focus for extended periodsSelf-motivated and willing to assist coworkers during slow periodsExperience with inventory systems/tools; AS400 experience highly beneficialStrong attention to detail, timeliness, and excellent attendanceStrong people skills; role supports a department of approximately 50 employees on 2nd shift#ZRCompany Description As a leading contract, contract-to-hire and professional placement firm, Three Point Solution understands the importance of aligning our client with the right resource at the right time.
