Based in our Frisco, TX location, the right candidate will have the opportunity to manage several critical commodities in the NCS spend portfolio.Job SummaryPosition Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated, and strategic Senior Commodity Manager with a proven track record of Electrical / Lighting / Motors category management and cost savings, with a strong focus on EBITDA growth. This role requires an individual with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in global sourcing with a spend responsibility of at least $50 million. The Senior Commodity Manager will play a vital role in managing these critical commodities to drive cost productivity, innovation, risk mitigation, inflation avoidance, new product development, and supply chain resiliency. The Senior Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies. This role owns category strategy, supplier performance, cost management, and multi‑year value creation while partnering closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance.This position requires regular engagement with manufacturing plants and global suppliers.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and manage $50M–$75M annual spend across Electrical, Motors, and Lighting. Develop and execute global commodity strategies across North America, Asia, and other sourcing regions Lead sourcing events, RFQs, negotiations, and contract administration. Build and maintain a multi‑year savings funnel aligned to business objectives.Drive Value Engineering / Value Analysis (VE/VA) initiatives with Engineering and Operations.Implement and manage scrap metal recovery programs to maximize value across manufacturing plants.Maintain profound awareness of market intelligence to manage pricing, inflation, and deflation.Apply deep knowledge of electrical subcomponent categories such as, but not limited to circuit breakers, relays, transformers, sensors, control panels, motors, etc. to make strategic sourcing decisions.Establish and manage supplier inventory programs, including: Consignment VMI Safety stock and min/max agreements Drive supplier performance through KPIs, working capital optimization, and continuous improvement Experience & Qualifications7–10 years of experience in Electrical, Motors, and Lighting.Proven experience managing large, complex spend portfolios ($50M–$75M) Strong global supplier management and negotiation experience Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, cost modeling, and contract management Hands‑on experience with scrap metal valuation and recovery programs Ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives in a matrixed environment Cross-functional Collaboration:Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and product development teams, to align sourcing strategies with business needs.Lead cross-functional teams in sourcing initiatives and projects like VAVE to ensure successful execution.Conduct ideation sessions across multiple business units.Team Leadership and Development.Provide peer-to-peer leadership.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or a technical field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.Professional certifications: CPIM, CPM, CQE, CSCP, CPSM, or CSCM.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in global sourcing, with a proven track record in managing a spend responsibility of at least $75million.Experience across multiple industries with a deep understanding of market dynamics and sourcing best practices.Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.Applicable experience with eRFx platform (e.g. Krinati or Ariba Sourcing) involving eRFP’s and eAuctions.Demonstrated ability to develop and execute multi-year commodity strategies that drive cost savings and inflation avoidance.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with strong Excel proficiency.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.Proficiency in sourcing and procurement software and ERP systems.
