Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

The Engineer is responsible for the design and analysis of safety and non-safety related Instrumentation & Controls systems under the direction of a senior engineer. This Engineer applies his or her knowledge and experience, industry best practices, regulatory guidance, codes and standards, and good engineering judgment to ensure the design is compliant with International standards and industry best practices. Roles and Responsibilities: · Develop Controls Logics & HMI in DCS as per customer requirement. · Preparation and review of Instrumentation Datasheets, Hook-up drawings, field wiring, JB Layouts, CBD, Instrument list, and P&ID's. · Hardware Engineering for DCS cabinets. · Develop Engineering documents. · Create Work packages for offshore team, coordinate with Offshore team to guide them on the project, and review offshore deliverables. · Assist project manager in preparing schedule of deliverables and report any project risk, as they occur. · Develop I&C engineering schedule, development of resource plans. · Shall follow the defined QC process and ensure executed work meet QC requirements. · Shall be ready and enthusiastic to learn new design tools and techniques and be flexible in working on different projects and with diverse teams. · Shall work to meet defined productivity benchmarks and meet project delivery requirements. · Mandatory skills: · Exposure to Basic engineering, Detailed engineering of Control systems for Power plants is strongly advantageous. · Developing Control Logics in DCS (Ovation®) preferred. Experience in DCS is a must. · Developing Graphics in DCS HMI systems based on control narratives. · Hardware Engineering for DCS cabinets. · Control test case/Instruction development and perform logic & graphics testing (Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT)). · Develop User Requirement Specifications. · Review of Functional requirements, generation of System Design Specification, preparing of Technical Reports & Generate Requirement Traceability Matrix. · Develop electrical & control panel schematics. · Assist with estimates of man-hours required to complete projects. · Desired Skills: · Knowledge in relevant tools like IBM DOORs, INTOOLS etc. · IEC 61508 & 61511 Standards etc. · Applicable experience in design of control systems for the process\power industry · Experience with applicable IEEE, IEC, EPRI, ISA and ANSI codes and standards. · Experience in designing I&C systems. · Experience with AutoCAD, MS Visio, and Smart Plant P&ID.
