Overview In this role you will help build production ML systems powering WHOOP's core performance insights. You will work with data scientists and MLOps engineers to deliver scalable analyses that translate physiological data into meaningful metrics. You’ll bridge research prototypes and production, balancing speed, latency, and cost, to impact millions of members. Compensation / Benefitsbase salary plus equitygenerous equity packagebenefitsopportunity to relocate to Boston, MAcareer growth and impact ResponsibilitiesCreate, improve, and maintain production services for health feature analyses in collaboration with data scientists and MLOps engineersCollaborate with data engineers to enhance ML data pipelines, tooling, and validation systemsTranslate research prototypes into production ML systems optimized for scale, latency, and costPartner with researchers and product teams to align model development with physiological insights and member impactParticipate in on-call rotations to ensure uptime and performance of data science services Key requirementsBachelor in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field (Master’s preferred)4+ years of professional experience in ML engineering, applied research, or software engineering with a focus on ML systemsStrong Python coding skills and production-quality codeExperience deploying and operating ML inference systems at scale (real-time or batch)Backend/service development fundamentals (APIs, reliability, monitoring, debugging) for serving ML modelsExperience deploying ML systems on AWS or GCP with CI/CD and observabilityFamiliarity with applied ML development and translating prototypes into productionPreferred: experience applying advanced mathematical and statistical techniquesPreferred: experience with time series data (wearable, physiological, or high-frequency sensors)collaborationproblem solvingreliabilityPythonML inference at scaleAPI/backend development
