Manager, Software EngineeringLocation: Onsite – Knoxville, TNEmployment Type: Direct HireBenefits: Full company benefits includedOverviewThe Manager, Software Engineering, provides leadership and technical guidance to all direct reports and assists with technical troubleshooting and guidance for other technical teams within the company.RequirementsMinimum of 4 years in a Software Development Lead or Team Management position7+ years’ combined experience in: Programming (C# .NET) Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Software architecture and design Familiarity with: Microsoft Azure Microsoft Windows Microsoft SQL Server Development on the above platforms Well-rounded technical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and advise on solutions for technical problems Preferred Qualifications Agile / Scrum XP (Extreme Programming) TDD (Test-Driven Development) Pair programming SharePoint Dynamics ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, direct, and evaluate the operations of Business Process Automation, Programming, Telecom, SharePoint, and Dynamics development teams Facilitate implementation and maintenance of a sound and integrated development architecture Oversee development and implementation of policies and procedures for software development Promote effective and efficient design and operation of all major development processes Meet with other departments to discuss system objectives, capabilities, and development timelines Provide advice and direction to senior managers on development-related acquisition and management Manage development personnel to design, develop, implement, operate, and administer software solutions Manage budget and expenditures for development-related products and services Monitor and analyze costs on all development projects Recruit, supervise, and lead direct reports Assist in troubleshooting escalated technical issues Leadership & Culture ExpectationsMaintain a positive work atmosphere and communicate effectively with customers, clients, co-workers, and management Lead by displaying a positive example Seek to do the “Right Thing.” Acknowledge and appreciate team contributions Effectively utilize managers and supervisors to their fullest potential Maintain vendor relationships People Management ResponsibilitiesInterview applicants and evaluate performance to recommend personnel actions (hiring, retention, promotion, transfer, dismissal) Hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, reward, or discipline employees Adjust employee grievances and responsibly direct team members Conduct regularly scheduled performance evaluations Hold bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with direct reports for coaching and feedback
