Material Controller

Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Material Controller to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support daily fabrication operations by managing raw materials, performing precision cutting, assisting with fabrication setup, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the production process. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read technical drawings, and hands-on experience with shop tools and measurement equipment. Responsibilities Perform saw cutting on various materials Accurately read and interpret engineering prints and work orders Measure materials using calipers and tape measures to ensure precision and compliance with specifications Order and maintain appropriate levels of raw materials for upcoming and ongoing projects Track, organize, and manage inventory of saw-cut parts and raw stock Assist with packaging and preparation of finished products for shipment Build and assemble jig fixtures to support fabrication processes Conduct quality checks to ensure all parts meet required standards before moving to the next stage Operate shop equipment including drills, grinders, and saws safely and efficiently Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety guidelines Qualifications Proven experience in supply chain management, warehouse distribution, or materials control within a manufacturing environment. Experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or construction environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Proficient in using calipers, tape measures, and basic inspection tools Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and power tools Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks Proficiency in welding (Preferred) Forklift Certification (Preferred) Work Environment: Fabrication shop setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and raw materials Requires standing, lifting, and hands-on work throughout the shift Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s): What is your salary requirement range?
