Construction Manager

Redlog Construction Group is seeking an experienced *Construction Manager* to lead and oversee construction operations across multiple projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. This is a senior, hands-on leadership position that combines *field operations, project management, financial oversight, team leadership, and client coordination*. The Construction Manager will oversee Project Managers and construction teams, help ensure projects are properly planned and executed, monitor schedules and costs, manage project risks, and maintain strong standards for quality, safety, documentation, and client communication. We are looking for someone with significant construction management experience who understands how to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining accountability, profitability, quality, and operational consistency. *Key Responsibilities* * Lead and support Project Managers and construction personnel across multiple active projects. * Oversee projects from preconstruction and estimating through construction, completion, and closeout. * Review project scopes, drawings, specifications, estimates, budgets, schedules, subcontractor proposals, and project documentation. * Assign and prioritize projects based on complexity, workload, location, client requirements, and risk. * Monitor project schedules, budgets, committed costs, cost-to-complete, change orders, and overall project profitability. * Conduct regular project reviews and job-site visits. * Identify and address schedule delays, cost overruns, scope gaps, quality concerns, safety issues, and other project risks early. * Oversee subcontractor and vendor performance. * Ensure permits, inspections, testing, documentation, and project-specific compliance requirements are properly managed. * Maintain strong communication with clients, Project Managers, subcontractors, consultants, field teams, finance, and company leadership. * Promote accountability and consistent construction management practices across the organization. * Ensure construction work complies with applicable *California construction and building codes*. *Required Qualifications* * *10+ years of progressively responsible construction experience.* * Significant experience working specifically in *construction management*. * Proven experience supervising *Project Managers and/or construction teams*, rather than only managing individual projects. * Strong knowledge of *California construction and building codes*. * Strong understanding of: * Construction sequencing * Subcontractor management * Estimating * Scheduling * Job costing * Budget management * Change orders * QA/QC * Job-site safety * Permitting and inspections * Project closeout * Strong understanding of project financials, including budgets, committed costs, cost-to-complete, gross margin, and cost variances. * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, consultant reports, contracts, and change documentation. * Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities. * Valid *regular driver's license*. Commercial driver's license is not required. * Ability and willingness to travel regularly to active job sites throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. *Preferred Construction Experience* Experience managing *multifamily construction and repair projects* is strongly preferred, particularly projects involving: * SB 721 / balcony inspections and repairs * Soft-story retrofits * Building envelope repairs * Waterproofing * Structural reinforcement * Balcony and exterior structural repairs * Historic building improvements * Occupied multifamily buildings * Structural repairs in buildings of *8+ stories* Experience working with local jurisdictions, inspectors, permitting processes, and construction requirements in California is highly valued. *Preferred Qualifications* Construction-related licenses or professional certifications are considered a plus, including safety, project management, or construction management certifications. Experience with construction management and collaboration platforms such as *Smartsheet, QuickBooks, Box, DocuSign, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office* is also preferred. *Compensation & Benefits* * $130,000 annual salary * Annual Bonus * Productivity Bonus * Paid Time Off (PTO), including vacation * Cell phone reimbursement * Company vehicle *What We Are Looking For* The ideal candidate is an experienced construction leader who is comfortable moving between the field, project financials, team management, client relationships, and operational decision-making. This person should be technically credible with Project Managers, subcontractors, and field teams while also having the financial discipline and leadership skills necessary to manage project performance and protect company profitability. We are particularly interested in candidates who have successfully managed construction teams and multiple projects simultaneously and who understand the complexities of multifamily repair, structural, and building-envelope work in California.
