This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving complex data challenges, working with modern cloud and big data technologies, and integrating AI-driven capabilities into production systems.You will work in a dynamic, Agile environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes.What you'll doPartner with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into scalable technical solutionsDesign, develop, and maintain large-scale data processing and orchestration systems using cloud and big data technologiesBuild and optimize data pipelines and workflow systems leveraging tools such as AWS, EMR, EKS, Python, Java, SQL, and Apache AirflowContinuously improve system performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed environmentsDevelop and maintain automated testing frameworks, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (e.g., Pytest)Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support efficient and reliable deploymentsMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues with a focus on stability and root cause analysisContribute to system architecture improvements by staying current with emerging cloud and big data technologiesBuild and operate infrastructure to support AI/ML integration, including MCP servers and related componentsLeverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and accelerate delivery across the SDLCDocument technical designs, workflows, and best practices to support knowledge sharingWhat you bringExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience5 years of hands-on software engineering experience in data platforms, cloud, or distributed systemsCore technical skillsStrong proficiency in Python (or Java) with solid understanding of object-oriented and functional programming conceptsAdvanced SQL skills, including window functions, joins, aggregations, and analytical queriesHands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, ECS, EKS, EMR, and RDSExperience building scalable data pipelines and workflow orchestration systems (e.g., Apache Airflow)Ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code with strong test coverageTesting and engineering practicesExperience with automated testing frameworks such as PytestFamiliarity with Agile development practices, peer code reviews, and iterative deliveryExperience developing RESTful APIsDevOps and cloud engineeringExperience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes)Exposure to infrastructure automation and cloud-native development patternsNice to haveExperience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, Angular, or ReactExperience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCDExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stackExperience with AWS monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and CloudTrailAWS or Kubernetes certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Big Data Specialty, CKA/CKAD)Experience working in financial services or other regulated environmentsWhat sets you apartStrong problem-solving and analytical mindsetAbility to work independently while collaborating across teamsExperience operating in fast-paced, data-intensive environmentsCuriosity and passion for learning emerging technologies, especially in AI and cloudStrong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts clearlyWork environmentCollaborative, Agile-based engineering cultureHybrid or remote flexibility depending on team needsOpportunity to work on modern data platforms and AI-enabled systems at scaleWelcome to ConsultNet, a premier national provider of technology talent and solutions.
