DescriptionInternship Title: Applications Engineering InternTeam: Applications EngineeringRole DescriptionThe intern will support the Applications engineering team with hands-on board-level testing, debugging, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) validation activities. This role provides practical exposure to power electronics behavior, signal integrity, and compliance-related testing under the guidance of experienced engineers.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with DER board power-up, testing, and debuggingCapture and analyze electrical waveforms using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and probesSupport surge testing activities, including test setup preparation, execution observation, and result documentationAssist with EMC testing, including radiated and conducted emissions pre-compliance testingSupport ESD testing setup and evaluation to assess board-level robustnessHelp identify anomalies in test results and support root-cause investigation under supervisionDocument test procedures, results, and observations for internal reference and training materialsExpected Learning OutcomesPractical understanding of power electronics board behavior and integration challengesHands-on experience with waveform measurement and interpretationExposure to surge, EMC, and ESD test standards and setupsImproved troubleshooting and debugging skills in a lab environmentMeasure effectiveness of AI tools in projects,Qualifications & RequirementsRequired Skills: Basic knowledge of electronic circuitsPreferred Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of electronic circuitsEducation Level: 3rd year college undergraduate (or in MS/PhD program) who has completed a basic circuit analysis courseField(s) of Study: Electrical EngineeringPower Integrations is committed to building teams that drive innovation and therefore review a range of factors when determining compensation. The hourly pay range for this internship is $32 to $34. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, qualifications and work location.The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for this intern in California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
