South Puget Sound Connections Specialist Job DescriptionPosition Description Reports to the Vice President of ProgramsAbout UsOnly7Seconds (O7S) is a national leader in addressing the youth loneliness crisis. By 2035, we aim to have two million youth and young adults experience meaningful, intentional connection. This will result in youth leading less lonely, more socially healthy lives. We will accomplish this by driving multimedia awareness campaigns, deploying evidence-informed resources, and building youth-led programs. This position will play a critical part of the next phase of our young organization’s growth. The Connections Specialist (CS) will work collaboratively with the Vice President of Programs to expand our reach and impact within Washington State. This position is ideal for a Washington State local, who is deeply rooted in the Pierce County community. This part-time in-person contractor position is responsible for growing programming, organizing local events, and cultivating strong community engagement in the South Puget Sound region. This position can grow into a full time employee role over time. Priority given to candidates located in the Tacoma or Puyallup areas. They are responsible for building new partnerships and collaborations as well as deepening current partnerships and collaborations with a focus on communities across the South Puget Sound, especially Pierce County Washington. They will accomplish this through community engagement and relationship building, event coordination, and administrative support.Key Responsibilities:1) Community Engagement and Relationship Building:Build inroads to and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, including families, schools, educators, community centers, local organizations, community leaders, and volunteers.Represent Only7Seconds at community meetings, events, and forums to enhance visibility and foster partnerships and collaboration.Serve as a local advocate for youth mental, behavioral, and social health and well-being.Build and expand Only7Seconds programming within the region, specifically within schools and community centers serving youth and within schools and community centers in Pierce CountyFacilitate workshops, activities, and events that promote connection and social health among youth.2) Event Coordination:Plan, coordinate, and execute events that raise awareness about youth loneliness, social health, & connection.Manage event logistics, including scheduling, marketing, and volunteer coordination.Evaluate the success of events and suggest improvements for future initiatives.Support the events of other organizations by representing Only7Seconds (e.g., tabling at an event) 3) Administrative Support:Support the monitoring of program participation, outcomes, and community feedback to assess impact and inform strategic planning.Maintain communication records and ensure timely follow-up with clients and partners.Ensure compliance with Only7Seconds policies and procedures.We are looking for someone who is:Tenacious: You push projects and tasks to completion, ensuring desired results are achieved. Education and/or knowledge in behavioral and mental health, social work, education, or a related areaLocation: South Puget Sound, Washington (in person and remote work with regular in-region travel).Regions: South Puget Sound region (Pierce, Thurston-Mason, Kitsap, Salish, and Great Rivers-Grays Harbor-Pacific regions)Contractor Compensation: Contract for this half-time (20 hours per week on average) in person position is competitive and commensurate with experience. $23-$24.5 per hour. Opportunity to increase hours as opportunity and demand increase, including transitioning the role to a full time employee position. Hours: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week. Flexible in-person scheduling with occasional evening and weekend commitments for events.
