Project Engineer – Municipal Water / WastewaterHouston, TXA leading employee-owned engineering and environmental consultancy is seeking a Project Engineer to join its growing water and wastewater practice. The organisation delivers multidisciplinary infrastructure solutions across public and private sector clients, with a strong focus on sustainable water management, treatment systems, and environmental compliance.This is an opportunity to take a senior technical role within a collaborative team environment, supporting the delivery of complex municipal water and wastewater projects from concept through construction.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support design work for water and wastewater infrastructure projectsPrepare technical reports, engineering calculations, drawings, and supporting documentationConduct field investigations and site assessments as requiredPerform hydraulic modelling and wastewater flow analysisDevelop cost estimates, specifications, and construction contract documentsSupport bidding, procurement, and construction-phase servicesCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams including surveyors, geotechnical, structural, and electrical engineersLiaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies in a professional capacityAssist with project scheduling, cost tracking, and delivery oversightProvide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staffCandidate RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline10+ years of relevant engineering experience (15+ preferred)Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas requiredStrong background in water/wastewater design and deliveryExcellent technical writing and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Adobe)Experience with AutoCAD and/or GIS preferredWillingness to undertake occasional local travel for site visits and client meetingsStrong organisational skills with a detail-oriented, self-driven approachWhat's on OfferBase salary starting north of $130k depending on experienceEmployee-ownershipFlexible working arrangements and supportive team cultureComprehensive benefits package including healthcare, retirement contributions, and paid leave
