Front End Leads supervise cashiers and customer service to ensure the highest quality teamwork and communication. Front End Leads maintain a clean, stocked, and inviting work environment, and are positive contributors to the co-op team.All Co-op Staff WillUse all available tools and resources in order to provide excellent and knowledgeable customer service to all customers, coworkers, and vendorsCommunicate professionally and respectfully with everyone you encounter while at workAdhere to all store and department policies and proceduresDemonstrate regular, predictable good attendanceAttend huddles and meetings as scheduledCommit to contributing to a positive, team-building work environmentAll Front End Leads WillCASHIERProvide excellent, efficient, and accurate customer service when ringing at the cash register and when picking and packing groceries with Eastside To-Go (ETG)Show proficiency in the point-of-sale (POS) systemPractice safe money-handling skills at the registerPrepare and count down tills with accuracy and efficiencyMaintain a clean and orderly work areaDemonstrate knowledge of products, department organization, and co-op policies to better assist customersAssist customers with bagging groceries, including taking groceries to the customer's vehicle when appropriateMaintain a clean, orderly and inviting work areaUtilize the online ordering platform and all available tools to create daily order and pick listsAdhere to all food safety rules and regulations set forth by the Minnesota Dept. of Health and the storeProperly label and store all ETG orders, deliver curbside pickup orders to the designated areaWork with shoppers via phone to complete their order when substitutions are necessaryAssist in maintaining clean and sanitized shopping carts for in-store shoppersStay informed by accepting and absorbing co-op communications including logs, huddles, meetings, and staff emails as assignedCommit to contributing to a positive, team-building work environmentPerform tasks as directed by shift leads and managersAdditional ResponsibilitiesTrain and supervise cashiers and customer service staff in coordination with Front End managers.Assign off-register tasks and daily chores to cashiers and customer service staff.Assist cashiers and customer service staff as needed with customer concerns and complaints, register and equipment malfunctions, transaction questions, scanning issues, and returns.Assist Front End managers in informing staff of all changes in store policies and procedures which affect the department.Offer Front End support (breaks, rushes, security, etc.). Cashier and assist customer service desk as needed.Make judgment calls regarding Front End issues (check-cashing, discount use, etc.).Follow established opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth daily operations.Perform responsibilities as a deposit clerk and maintain the safe count.Maintain good communication through logbooks and huddles as well as provide appropriate feedback to staff.Provide coaching and guidance to Front End staff to encourage positive work practices and appropriate behavior.Communicate all problems concerning customers, equipment, and personnel to Front End managers.Use troubleshooting materials and work with the IT department on cash register and other equipment malfunctions.Work with the Scanning department to ensure that products, sales, and other information are correctly entered in SMS.Notify Facilities manager or manager on duty, as appropriate, of concerns about building and property maintenance (snow removal, pest control, lighting, refrigeration, etc.).Serve as an example of excellence to both cashiers and customer service staff.Perform other tasks as assigned by the Front End managers.The Ideal Candidate Will PossessPassion for high quality natural foods and co-opsExceptional customer service skillsCashiering experience; accuracy with cash handling and point of sale systemsTraining and/or leadership experience preferredDemonstrated ability to handle multiple demands, manage difficult situations, and follow through on commitmentsComputer, mathematic, and organization skillsSelf-motivation; comfortable taking initiative and prioritizing tasksDesire to grow skills and knowledgeAbility to work at least one weekend shift per weekPHYSICAL DEMANDSStanding, bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, and walking for extended periods of time per shiftRepetitive bending and lifting of loads up to 50 pounds; pushing and pulling carts weighing up to 400 poundsEnvironmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, freezer, outdoors, etc.)Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulationJob Posted by ApplicantPro
