Parole Services Program Specialist

Description Duties Description To be discussed at time of interview.Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Must meet the following qualifications for a non-competitive appointment:A bachelor’s degree AND six years of professional experience in a criminal justice or social service agency, providing direct services to justice-involved individuals by making assessments of the individuals needs and referring them to multiple treatment programs and/or services in such areas as housing, employment, mental health, or substance abuse that are designed to rehabilitate persons with criminal histories. Three years of the experience must have been at a supervisory level.Substitution: A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience.OrOne year of service as an Assistant Parole Services Program Specialist.Additional CommentsDuties, roles, responsibilities, travel, and work hours to be discussed at time of interview.Position is located within Community Supervision Re-entry and covers the Central NY Region. Central NY oversees Re-entry services for the following Community Supervision Area Offices: Elmira/Binghamton, Northern Frontier/Watertown/Syracuse, and Utica.Location is dependent on Departmental needs and candidate reponses.
