Practice Setting and Clinical Scope As a Hospitalist in this reputable inpatient program, you will provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients, including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges. You will evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, ensuring evidence-based, patient-centered care. The role involves close collaboration with specialists, primary care providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, Emergency Medicine physicians, and ancillary services to coordinate patient care plans and ensure smooth transitions of care. The position requires no procedures, with support from specialty backup, including surgeons for central lines, respiratory therapy, and CRNAs. Schedule and Assignment Details 12-hour day shifts from 0700 to 1900. Rotating weekend coverage with the same shift schedule. Full-time direct hire position with an unknown start date, offering stability and continuity. Support and Work Environment Join a well-supported team environment in a 61-bed community-based hospital, where you will engage in meaningful professional relationships and collaborative practice. Participate in clinical rounds, interdisciplinary meetings, and hospital committees, as well as quality improvement initiatives. You will have access to specialty backup and work closely with an integrated team to provide top-notch care. The role does not require commuting more than one hour, ensuring a balanced work-life dynamic. Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Active Vermont Medical License and DEA (must be obtained prior to start). BLS and ACLS Certification required. Ventilator management experience and experience running codes required. 2-3 years of hospitalist experience and rural health experience highly preferred. Clean malpractice history required.
