If this excites you, come and join our team.The Facilities & Maintenance Technician is responsible for day-to-day maintenance and facilities needs for OTTC/GoNetspeed in the NY region. The supervisor will also handle conversations with municipalities and code officers for work in new OSP build territories for POPs and buildings.Essential Job Functions: Facilities & Maintenance:Interact with landlords on repairs, access, etcBuild and maintain relationships with local governments to obtain building permitsBuild and maintain POP locations and cabinet sitesBuilding maintenance and upkeepOversee all operations of facilities and maintenance needsMonitor needs based on budgetMowing lawns of owned properties and maintain remote POP locationsAssist other departments to meet their needs and deadlinesKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Accepts responsibility for independent decisions and works with minimal supervisionKnowledge of industry specifications and standardsKnowledge of company products and servicesKnowledge of company policies and proceduresSkill in oral and written communicationSkill in identifying problems and resolutionsAbility to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous mannerAbility to follow written and oral instructionsAbility to work with hand toolsAbility to pay close attention to detail and schedulesAbility to effectively function as a team playerEducation and Experience:Two-year degree preferred, high school diploma requiredForklift trainingExperience with electrical standards and safety codesExperience with natural gas and propane installationsExperience with HVAC systemsExperience with Kohler GeneratorsWorking Conditions:This factor measures the surroundings or physical conditions under which a job must be done and the extent to which those conditions make the job disagreeable.
