Job DescriptionEverforth ECS is seeking a Database Administrator 2 to work Remotely.The Database Administrator 2 with strong PostgreSQL and ETL expertise to support mission-critical database operations in a secure enterprise environment. This role will focus heavily on PostgreSQL administration, performance tuning, scripting, data movement, and ETL support, while also requiring working knowledge of Oracle database administration and cloud-based database platforms.The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL environments, supporting ETL workflows, optimizing database performance, and maintaining secure, reliable data systems across on-prem and cloud-hosted infrastructure.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister, maintain, and support PostgreSQL database environments, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup, recovery, and performance tuningSupport ETL processes and data integration workflows, ensuring reliable movement, transformation, and validation of data across multiple systemsDevelop, maintain, and troubleshoot PostgreSQL scripts, stored procedures, and database objects using PL/pgSQLManage PostgreSQL schemas, user roles, permissions, access controls, and security modelsPerform database performance analysis and tuning using explain plans, monitoring tools, query optimization, indexing strategies, and normalization techniquesSupport backup and recovery operations using tools such as pg_dump, pg_basebackup, and point-in-time recovery (PITR)Work closely with application, ETL, and infrastructure teams to support data pipelines, database interfaces, and external system integrationsProvide database administration support for Oracle environments, including configuration, upgrades, backup and recovery, and performance troubleshootingSupport Oracle 19c/21c environments, including experience with Data Guard, RMAN, cloning, resource management, and OEM Grid administrationMaintain and support databases across multiple operating systems, including Linux, RHEL, and WindowsSupport cloud-based infrastructure and databases in AWS, including CloudWatch, CloudTrail, EC2, Oracle, Aurora, and PostgreSQL RDSCreate and maintain shell scripts to automate recurring database administration, ETL support, and daily monitoring activitiesAssist with database and system patching, software upgrades, performance tuning, and maintenance of COTS products and operating systemsSalary Range: $110,000- $122,000General Description Of BenefitsRequired SkillsActive Secret security clearanceBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experienceMinimum 3 years of relevant experience in database administrationStrong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administrationExperience supporting or working alongside ETL processes, data integration, and database-to-database/data pipeline operationsExperience writing and troubleshooting PL/pgSQL and SQL queriesStrong understanding of SQL optimization, normalization, indexing, and query tuningExperience with PostgreSQL backup and recovery methodsWorking knowledge of Oracle database administration, including Oracle 19c/21c supportExperience with AWS cloud services and managed database platformsExperience with shell scripting for automation and monitoringDesired SkillsExperience in environments where PostgreSQL is the primary operational database platformExperience supporting ETL jobs, data ingestion workflows, and integration between enterprise applicationsFamiliarity with Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, AWR, ASH, and ADDMExperience with PostgreSQL RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, or hybrid cloud database environmentsKnowledge of database storage management, system interfacing, and enterprise monitoring tools#EverforthECS1ECS Federal LLC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis any characteristic protected by law.
