JOB TITLE: Quality Control Manager – Electronics ManufacturerEMPLOYER: Electronics Manufacturer/Some Lighting products – Skokie, ILSUMMARY: Skokie, IL Electronics company looking for Quality/Operations Manager. This successful candidate will have previous electronics assembly operation experience. This key position will be the quality leader, overseeing and coordinating all aspects of quality within the company. Will be a member of the operations management team and partner closely with corporate supply chain management to implement the company strategy. Will work closely with sales leadership and engineering to deliver on new product introduction quality and operation in support of customer service excellence. Driver of constant Continuous Improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES: Continue to refine and implement a quality management system best suited for company business model.Develop, implement, and maintain quality related KPIs for all Luminii sites.Manage and oversee the RMA process within in US and Canadian mfg facilitiesOversee & participate in Customer Satisfaction activitiesParticipate in design for manufacturability activities for cost effectiveness & product reliability.Manage & Maintain revision control on all production and quality documentation and records in accordance with best practices and business objectives.Work closely with vendors on quality issues to bring to a conclusion. Includes SCAR/8D generation and resolution.Maintain and track all quality issues and manage to resolutionManage incoming quality, in-process inspection, final quality, and all quality related activities.Measure, manage, report, and control all Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) activities throughout the organization.Perform administrative duties concerning company policies, rules, quality and safetyEnsure all production employees are properly trained on Safety, Quality and job-specific skills. Deploy & create PFMEA documentation, methodologies, and practices.REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:Must have BS/BE in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred)5-10 years Quality experience Proven Production Quality/Operations experience (Prefer electronics or lighting assembly operations). Prefer “configuration to order” production experience.Understanding of KPIs and managing performance with themStrong Quality Management System (QMS) & document control skills.Excellent grasp of statistical and quality tools, such as 8D, RCA, Ishikawa, DOE, SPC, etc.APICS CPIM preferredStrong quality background preferred. Includes driving quality upstream, quality improvement initiatives and supply chain quality vendor auditingStrong background in data analysis, database queries. The ability for report generation and analysis through ERP database exporting.Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing; 6 Sigma; Kaizen, 5S preferredOutstanding communication ability across all audiences, including change management Excellent organizational and leadership skillsTeam Player with collaborative skillsStrong decision-making skills and a results-driven approachPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIORNMENT:Frequently required to stand (will be on the floor with production staff often)Occasionally required to sitContinually required to talk or hearSome domestic and international travel may be required (to other sites and supplier and client meetings, etc.).
