Job Description$23.00 Hourly\nSUMMARY:\nUnder the general direction of the Production Supervisor, the primary role is to assist in various capacities including, but not limited to, lamination, bonding, painting, and inspection\nResponsibilities include some or all of the following:\nLamination and Bonding\n\nUnderstands safety and procedural issues for the process\nReads and understands the production process instruction sheet, including identification of all relevant materials and equipment\nReads and understands part drawings and identifies important details and dimensions\nInspects parts for dimensional qualities\nInspects parts for lamination or secondary process readiness\nEnsures material and supplies availability for upcoming production\nSchedules daily lamination tasks to ensure optimum throughput to meet customer demand\nCleans and maintains mix and weighing equipment\nPerforms secondary operations (i.e. insert installation) when necessary\n\n\nBonding\n\nReads and understands process sheet and/or packing slip\nTrims and dry fits blocks prior to bond process\nRecords all lot information onto process sheets\nWeighs out adhesives and prepares bagging/bonding materials\nBonds and vacuum bags blocks or finished parts to meet drawing or process sheet specifications\nTrim/package or crate items for shipment\n\nFiberglassing\n\n\n\nReads and understands part drawings for glass layout and thickness details\nPrepares work area for glassing process\nCuts/prepares fiberglass for lay-up process\nProperly weighs and mixes resins for lay-up\nPerforms layout process including vacuum bagging when required\nTrims and finishes parts, including sanding and readies part for final coatings\nInspects and prepares final parts for shipment\n\n\nPrepares equipment preventive maintenance schedule\nParticipates in inventory assessment of raw materials and data collection\nEvaluates supplies status and notifies or orders supplies\n\nPainting\n\nUnderstands safety and procedural issues for the process\nReads and understands production process instruction sheet and identifies all relevant materials and equipment\nPrepares coatings and processing equipment per manufacturer specifications\nPrepares syntactic/composite part surfaces for coatings to ensure final product meets customer requirements, including but not limited to:\n\nSurface repair (patching and/or glassing)\nSanding and gloss coat\nPriming\n\n\nCoats parts per customer requirements\nCures and finishes parts per customer requirements\nMaintains paint booth and finishing area to ensure safety and production standards are met\nInspects and prepares final parts for shipments\nPrepares equipment preventive maintenance schedule\nParticipates in inventory assessment of raw materials and data collection\nEvaluates supplies status and notifies or orders supplies\nParticipates in evaluation and development of new coatings and/or coating techniques\n\nMacrosphere processing\n\nUnderstands safety and procedural issues for macrosphere process\nMaintains a clean work area and general housekeeping of all equipment and scales\nIdentifies all relevant equipment\nReads and understands batch cards and identifies materials used in the process\nInspects/evaluates incoming starting beads for processing\nAccurately loads tumbler(s) with starting materials and initiates process (heating/tumbling)\nProperly applies coats by accurately weighing and transferring material\nAccurately fills out batch cards with required information\nPerforms water displacement or pycnometer density checks during process\nUnloads and screens finished product, attains batch weights and prepares QC samples\nReplenishes raw materials and supplies\nPrepares equipment preventive maintenance schedule\nCleans and maintains tumbler\nProcesses experimental batches with new materials or possible process improvements\n\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nManufacturing experience preferred.\n\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\n\nMust be able to lift, push, and pull greater than 50 pounds.
