Traditional Chinese Teacher for After School Program

The Traditional Chinese Teacher is responsible for following a dual immersion English and Traditional Chinese curriculum and designing lesson plans and activities for children in our K-5 After School Program. The Traditional Chinese Teacher will help to implement and maintain a safe and fun environment for children. We're looking for a passionate and energetic Traditional Chinese Speaking Teacher for our School Age Program. Hours Monday - Friday: 2:30pm to 6:00pm Benefits for a Traditional Chinese Teacher: · Low teacher to child ratios · Education Expense Reimbursement · Room for growth (We promote from within!) · Staff Appreciation Events and Activities · Fun and Exciting Days · Making a difference and creating memories Requirements of a Traditional Chinese Teacher: · Ability to read and write in Traditional Chinese · Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Elementary Education, Human Services or directly related field preferred. OR · Two years of college coursework and (6) six month of experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children. OR · Three (3) years of full-time experience working in a similar setting with school age children. · Excellent interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) in both English and Traditional Chinese and ability to relate to young children, teachers, and parents · Strong organizational, leadership and managerial skills. Problem-solve and work well as part of a team –be organized and solution-oriented! · Must be enthusiastic, energetic, friendly and a positive role model · A passion for children and sensitive to children’s needs Responsibilities of a Traditional Chinese Teacher: · The Traditional Chinese Teacher will run dual immersion lessons in our after school program. · Plan instructional activities and lessons, which promote developmentally appropriate student learning. · Have a welcoming and professional demeanor. · Be able to develop and maintain a positive work relationship with all children, parents, and staff and effectively communicate. · Must have ability to visually and audibly supervise children in a variety of situations. · Must be highly motivated and take direction well with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. · Will have knowledge of child care programming, safety and emergency first-aid procedures, program management, and excellent customer service.
