In comparable Davies roles, litigation-oriented adjusters are expected to analyze coverage, determine liability and damages, manage reserves, coordinate defense strategy, direct counsel, attend mediations and settlement conferences, and maintain accurate reporting through the life of the claim.This role is best suited for a claims professional who can independently manage litigated files, communicate effectively with insureds, claimants, attorneys, carrier clients, and internal stakeholders, and bring sound technical judgment to claims involving attorney representation, bodily injury, commercial auto, transportation, general liability, property damage, or other complex exposures.Compensation: This is a 100% commission-based role with earnings paid at 42% commission, supported by a bi-weekly draw of $1500.00.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and evaluate litigated claims to determine coverage, liability, damages, and overall exposureAnalyze policy language and apply coverage appropriately to routine and complex claimsPrepare clear and accurate coverage correspondence, including reservation of rights and denial letters when applicableManage claims through all phases of litigation, including investigation, strategy development, negotiation, mediation, settlement, and trial support when neededDirect and monitor defense counsel, including litigation strategy, reporting expectations, settlement authority, and expense managementEstablish and maintain appropriate reserves and provide timely updates as claim exposure developsNegotiate settlements within authority and escalate for additional authority when requiredAttend mediations, settlement conferences, hearings, inspections, and other claim-related proceedings as neededMaintain complete, accurate, and timely claim file documentation, including notes, diaries, reports, and correspondenceCollaborate with internal leadership, coverage teams, accounting, carrier partners, experts, and counsel to support claim strategy and outcomesEnsure compliance with client instructions, regulatory requirements, internal quality standards, and best practices in claims handlingMonitor litigation trends, jurisdictional developments, and other legal or regulatory issues that may impact claim handlingThis a full-time remote position.Skills, knowledge & expertise5+ years of claims adjusting experience in casualty, liability, transportation, bodily injury, or related complex linesExperience handling litigated claims with direct responsibility for investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and claim resolutionActive adjuster license(s) as required by jurisdictionStrong understanding of claims systems, file documentation, reserve practices, and litigation managementAbility to review and interpret insurance policies, legal documents, medical records, and other claim-related materialsHigh level of organization, time management, and file management disciplineExperience with commercial transportation, commercial auto, trucking, general liability, excess, or large-loss casualty claimsPrior experience directing defense counsel and participating in mediations and settlement conferencesMulti-state licensingBilingual Spanish skills are a plusJD, legal claims background, or advanced casualty/litigation claim expertise is a plusEqual Employment Opportunity & Legal NoticesBenefitsAt Davies North America, we are dedicated to supporting the well-being and future of our qualifying employees.
