Safety Manager
GLO Resources is hiring for a Safety Manager to work in Caruthersville, MO. This is a full-time, on-site position. The pay is between $95,000 and $110,000 experience dependent. The schedule is Monday – Friday on 1 shift but may require 2 shift work in the event of an emergency.
Position Summary
The Safety Manager serves as the site safety leader, accountable for executing, maintaining, and continuously improving Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental programs. This role ensures safety is embedded into daily operations, drives leader accountability, and partners with operations to achieve sustained safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary safety authority and advise leadership on safety risks and mitigation strategies.
Establish clear safety expectations and hold leaders accountable for compliance and performance.
Maintain visible shop-floor presence and model safe behaviors.
Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, USCG, and other applicable regulations.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Manage the site safety system, policies, and procedures.
Develop, deliver, and track safety training for all employees.
Oversee compliance with high-risk programs, including LOTO, confined space, fall protection, crane and rigging, hot work, mobile equipment, and PPE.
Coach supervisors and managers on safety leadership and accountability.
Promote a safety culture through employee engagement, near-miss reporting, and committee leadership.
Track, analyze, and report safety metrics, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Other duties to be assigned as necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
5–7 years of progressive safety experience in manufacturing, industrial, or marine environments.
Demonstrated experience leading site-level safety programs.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
Familiarity with Environmental Management systems, including permitting and reporting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Certification in CPR and First Response.
CSP, ASP, CHST, or similar professional safety certification is a plus.
Experience in marine, barge, welding, heavy fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments is advantageous.
Ability to support multi-shift operations.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Physical Requirements
Frequent presence in industrial and outdoor environments.
Ability to wear required PPE and navigate manufacturing areas, including confined spaces and varying heights.
Walking, standing, bending, and crouching as needed in a manufacturing environment.
Occasional travel for training, audits, or corporate meetings.
